Literary Societies/Book Reading Clubs
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals who have an interest in reading to meet with others to review and discuss all forms of literature. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
Book Distribution Programs
Programs that make books available to people who want and/or need them, either at a discount or no charge. Included are book exchange programs that allow people to swap books they have read for new ones; programs that provide books for children and/or young adults as a means of encouraging their interest in reading, often working in cooperation with local schools and libraries; and book giveaways or low cost book sales that target other populations.
Book Publishing/Distribution
Organizations such as university presses that produce and/or disseminate in printed or electronic format, literature and other fiction; biographies; academic books and monographs; textbooks; technical works in the areas of education, law, science, medicine and other related fields; reference materials; government reports and other documents; consumer materials; musical scores; art and other similar works.
